Description

why do some drives report data in diffrent ways.

I see some that show data like

3 Spin_Up_Time 0x0020 100 100 000 Old_age Offline - 0
4 Start_Stop_Count 0x0030 100 100 000 Old_age Offline - 0
5 Reallocated_Sector_Ct 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 0
9 Power_On_Hours 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always - 739

but on other drives i do not get the attribute list but a summary.

This is as expected. Smartctl outputs for ATA/SATA and SCSI/SAS drives are very different because the diagnostic info available through ATA and SCSI protocols are very different.

HOW DO I GET THE ATTRIBUTE DATA?

SCSI/SAS drives don't support ATA SMART Attributes.
