Hello everyone, for some time now, Open Media Vault has been sending me the following error message:

This message was generated by the smartd daemon running on:

The following warning/error was logged by the smartd daemon:

When I try to run a "Short self-test" on the "/dev/nvme0n1" manually, omv outputs the following:

Milestone: Release 7.4

The 0x4005 in the Status column of the Error Information indicates Invalid Field in Command which could be safely ignored. This is already addressed in smartmontools 7.4, see ticket #1222 for details.

If possible, please update to smartmontools 7.4. Then the error message should no longer occur in these cases.

Thank you for your answer, Christian.

According to OMV, the system is up-to-date even if I enable “Pre-release updates” and “Community-maintained updates”.

Do I have to update the system with apt?

Best regards, Nicolai

Okay, it seems that smartmontools 7.4 is not yet implemented in Debian Bookworm.

comment:8 by Christian Franke, 4 weeks ago

7.4 is available in bookworm-backports: https://packages.debian.org/bookworm-backports/smartmontools

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
