Hi Christian,
We asked our bare metal provider information regarding this disk.
Please find attached, pictures of the SSD with Model number MK000960GZXRB.
The original product number appears to be MZ7L3960HBLT-00AH3.
Searching google shows signs this product might be based on the SAMSUNG PM897
Please let me know if it helps?

Yes this helps, thanks.
PM897 is also printed on the SSD label.
Attribute set matches existing entry Samsung based SSDs
. The original product ATA IDENTIFY string SAMSUNG MZ7L3960HBLT-00AH3
is already matched by this entry.

Hi Christian,
Thanks for your prompt reply.
Is there something we can do from our side in order this disk to be recognized by smartctl?
Do you expect to also match MK000960GZXRB
in existing Samsung based SSDs
entry?
Best regards,

Add a local drive database entry, see -B
option on smartctl man page. See also the FAQ.

Hi Christian,
Thanks for your help.
I try out local database successfully, thanks for the tips.
However is there a way to directly "link" to existing presets from another entry or should I need to copy/paste presets from Samsung based SSDs
like I did in attached smart_drivedb.h
file?
Also, what is the purpose of commented presets lines in drivedb.h Samsung based SSDs
definition? Does it correspond to default values or maybe are matched by another entry matching model regex?
Best regards,

Attribute set is unknown. Is there any spec available?
Which SSD controller is used?
