Description
I have a server running debian Linux 6.0.7 with a Mylex AcceleRAID 160 controller. The board is identified as follows:
RAID bus controller: Mylex Corporation AcceleRAID 352/170/160 support Device (rev 02) Kernel driver in use: DAC960 PCI ID: 1069:0050 PIC subsystem id: 1069:0054
I've searched the web for information about how to get smart data out of the SCSI disks attached to this controller, but couldn't find any.
Is there any change smartmontools will eventually support this RAID controller ?

There is no SMART-related documentation or/and access to this hardware. Hardware itself is outdated and not supported anymore.
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
This would require SCSI pass-through support for physical drives in controller firmware and Linux driver.
Is the Linux driver available as source? If yes, it should be easy to check whether such an I/O control exists.
Is there any evidence (e.g. some vendor specific tool for another platform) that the firmware has pass-through support?
If no then there is no chance to add support to smartmontools. AFAICS this controller series is 10+ years old, so there is no chance that this situation changes.
