My new disk is not recognized in the smartctl database with error Device is: Not in smartctl database [for details use: -P showall]

Could you please add this disk to the Smartmon database?

Please provide a sample smartctl -x -a ... output as a plaintext attachment. Otherwise we cannot check the attributes.

Another issue: ...

0xff8 = ATA ACS-4, 0x1ff = SATA 3.3

smartctl 7.4 should print:

This version is very old. The drive database branch for this version is no longer maintained.

I take that back, the drive is still not detected:
